In the Dominican Republic, you can purchase property of any kind without restrictions. The following additional costs will apply: property transfer tax (generally 3%), notary fees (statutory 1%), and an annual property tax called "IPI" (Dominican Property Incentive), which will only be payable starting in 2025 (RD$10,190,833). Contact the Dominican Consulate General in your hometown to apply for a visa, which is required for the further processing of your residency permit/residencia in the Dominican Republic.
