You can purchase any type of property in the Dominican Republic without restrictions. The following additional costs apply: real estate transfer tax, usually 3%, and a notary fee of 1%. Contact the Dominican Consulate General in your hometown to apply for a visa, which is required for further processing of your residence permit/residency in the Dominican Republic.
